    2. - an academic project using social media to help rebuild a university brand and the relationships it has with all its core users. To date we have over 1200 members in our social networks

Changing Universities

    2. - a very exciting initiative building a potentially global network of loosely aligned professionals who all have some remit in change management in the academic community. To date we have around 150 members, coming from the UK, Australia and the USA. We have academics and adminstrators of various (usually) senior roles.

SocialMet

SocialMet is a brave initiative by our university. We are not popular in many peoples eyes. We don't rank highly, we are losing a lot of jobs, we are in the front lines of higher education. Some people may not even view us as a 'proper' university. In fact, we are at the forefront of change and therefore a great guide of what is to come. So, when senior management agreed to open the doors to our community, it was brave. I'm honoured to have imagined it, built it and to look after it.

The changing universities website is a community for reinventing universities. It exists to offer an online platform for discussing many aspects of university working processes using groups, discussions, social media and anything else that may help. We provide public and private (invite only) groups for people to discuss issues they may be involved in, in a virtual environment.

The London Met Elearning Matrix

The London Met Elearning Matrix is a comprehensive resource for all things elearning in higher education, with multiple ways to access content using categories and tagging. Built using Expression Engine 2.5, with full bespoke front and back end and utilizing well known EE modules like Playa, Matrix, Assets and more. It also makes a lot of use of jQuery while retaining a clear, fairly formal layout and approach. It's fully social media integrated, back and front.
