A summary of recent and current work is available here, to give an indication of what I do when I’m at work in the context of the university. I also do a variety of freelance projects for web design and development. This site is one example. My official CV is available on Scribd for download (PDF). It includes work record, skills and experience, statement and full teaching history.
Working with academics in the faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities to create and inspire news stories for sharing the learning and teaching experiences of the faculty.
Inventing and running Mediabank - the media and communications student team on work placement or volunteer work project initiatives for content generation and sharing into social channels. We create vox pop video, motion graphics and image banks as authentic content - real stories about real people. For more info, see the Mediabank entry in the work section.
Development of the eLearning Matrix web resource, a complex category driven website offering multiple routes into content on technology enhanced learning techniques and resources. The site is built with Expression Engine, using Xhtml and CSS2 and 3, fully open graph integrated and offering other useful functionality for users, such as pdf generation of any article for reading offline. A new fully responsive version of the site is underway. Likely go-live time is March or April 2015. I also advise on use of social media for teaching and learning.
I still teach now and again in the field of computing and digital media, and recently supervised a number of dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Netfarms.eu is my Wordpress multisite project, and I’m involved in providing students and graduates with custom build Wordpress sites for personal portfolios and in learning and teaching.
I’m developing a number of sites for small business clients, mainly client-hosted Wordpress, but am keenly looking for new work in this area.
